The summer is half over and with August almost upon us, there are the Olympics 2016 in Rio to look forward to and of course, the song swan of the summer: The Canadian National Exhibition (but known to us Torontonians fondly as The Ex).

I’ve been going to The Ex my whole life. There were years where I would go multiple times (including working at the Toys R Us tent one year) and a few in between when I didn’t get a chance to make it but I think it still sums up to about 40 times+ in my (soon to be) 39 years! As a kid, I loved the Midway but it has always been about the food. Between the Food Building, the corn dogs, the waffle ice cream sandwiches, and the foods du jour, I’ve never left there hungry. We’ve been taking B to The Ex since he was a baby, and now that he is 4 (his birthday is today!), he is loving all the same things that I loved as a kid. He especially loves Kids’ World and The Farm and something for kids of all ages is the SuperDogs show.

There are some specials on the Official CNE website as well as advance tickets discounts but if you work for an employer who set up a corporate discount, you can save some more bucks there.  Kids under 4 are free. If you have school age children, you may have received your free kid’s admissions ticket with their report card but if not, you’re in luck.   The Ex has free online tickets that you can print out. You can get your free kid’s pass here.
