Hello February!

  • by

It’s frigid outside but I’m feeling like February will be red hot (going for some positive thinking!). For a short month, there seems to be a lot of things going on and things to look forward to!

Chinese New Year – February 12th this year and it’s the Year of the Ox. Starting to brainstorm ideas on how to celebrate with only our family this year.

Valentine’s Day – We’re doing a Valentine Heart Attack for the kids and decorating their doors with paper hearts and reasons why we love them!

Family Day – In Ontario, we celebrate this on the third weekend in February and of course its the same weekend as CNY and V-day. Might be relaxing with the family that day or maybe we’ll go on a family hike?

Monthly Country-themed family dinner – Something we started in 2021 is a special themed dinner monthly. For the last Saturday in January, we did a France-themed French food dinner that was super kid-friendly. I made Instant Pot French Onion Soup to start, Easy Quiche with Prosciutto Cotto, onions and cheese, and Crepes with strawberries and whipped cream for dessert.

Declutter Challenge – For the month of February, I’ve joined a Facebook group challenge of de-cluttering. The goal is one item for day 1, two items for day 2 and so on. For the whole month of 28 days, this will be 406 items! I’m up for the challenge as our house is extremely cluttered so I’m hoping this will make a little dent. I created a quick count sheet to keep me accountable.

I hope February is a great month for our family and for yours.
